AS WE KNOW, ADAMS ROAD HAS BEEN AN ONGOING CHALLENGE FOR A LONG TIME NOW. AND WHEN I CAME INTO OFFICE LAST JANUARY, I WAS APPROACHED BY SOME OF THE CITIZENS IN THAT AREA, AND WE STARTED DISCUSSIONS AND THEY INFORMED ME OF ALL THE DIFFERENT WORKING WITH THE ROAD DEPARTMENTS, THE MARSHAL DEPARTMENT, SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, SEVERAL THINGS DURING THAT TIME DIFFERENT SIGNS, SPEED LIMITS, STUDIES, STOP SIGNS HAVE BEEN PUT UP AT A THREE WAY STOP THINK. STRIPS WERE PUT DOWN AT ONE TIME AND FLASHING THE RADAR SIGNS TO SHOW YOUR SPEED. ALL THAT WAS DONE THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. SO WITH THAT BEING IN MIND, WE HAD A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ABOUT, I GUESS IT WAS ABOUT A MIDDLE OF LAST YEAR, AND AT THAT TIME INVITED MANY OF THE PUBLIC TO COME AND SPEAK. AND AFTER THE PLAN, AFTER THE COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING PART WAS DONE AND THEY AGAIN SHOWED THEIR CONCERNS, VOICED THEIR CONCERNS ABOUT IT. AND SO ONE OF THE CITIZENS THERE TURNED A NICE BINDER IN OF RECOMMENDATIONS IF WE WOULD FOLLOW THOSE. MORE RESEARCH IS NEEDED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSES FOR THIS AND THE MITIGATION NEEDED. CONSIDERING THE DISASTER UNFOLDING IN NORTHEAST GEORGIA DUE TO THE CARPET INDUSTRY AND THE FACT THAT WE ALREADY HAVE PFAS IN OUR WATER HERE, WHICH HAS YET TO BE MITIGATED, WE DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE CHANCE OF WORSENING THOSE CONDITIONS. THE LOW FREQUENCY HUMMING CREATED BY THESE SITES AFFECTS BOTH HUMANS AND LIVESTOCK. THIS IS NOT TYPICAL NOISE FROM A MANUFACTURING PLANT. THIS PARTICULAR SOUND HAS BEEN SHOWN TO RAISE THE HEART RATES OF PREGNANT MOTHERS AND AFFECT THE DEVELOPING BRAINS OF SMALL CHILDREN, AND I DO HAVE MORE INFORMATION I CAN PROVIDE YOU ON THAT. OUR AIR QUALITY, WHICH IS ALREADY BAD AT TIMES, WILL BECOME EVEN WORSE DUE TO THE GENERATORS AND THE FACT THAT MORE FOSSIL FUELS WILL BE USED TO CREATE THE NEW POWER GENERATION FOR THESE BEHEMOTH ENERGY GUZZLERS. THERE'S A GAS PIPELINE EXPANSION PROPOSED TO BISECT THE STATE ACROSS THE FALL LINE AS WE SPEAK. THIS IS TO POWER THE DATA CENTERS. AND I WAS JUST AT A MEETING ABOUT THAT THE OTHER NIGHT. IT'S PRETTY HORRIFYING DUE TO ALL THE RISKS INVOLVED WITH THESE PURELY SPECULATIVE DEVELOPMENTS, I ADVISE THE COUNTY TO CONSIDER ITS EXPOSURE TO LEGAL ACTION IN THE FUTURE, DUE TO THE HARMS THAT COULD COME FROM THESE SITES.
